Class Champion FAQs
Do I need to live in San Diego to be a Class Champion? No! You can volunteer from anywhere in the world, as our meetings will be on Zoom, and all volunteer roles leading up to Homecoming can be completed on your own schedule.
What exactly would I do as a Class Champion? You'll be equipped with a class roster and tools to act as a voice of the Alumni Association and leader amongst your peers. Whether via phone, email, social media or snail mail, you'll help spread the word about Homecoming, check in on your classmates, and encourage folks to get involved. You'll also help shape your Class Reunion gathering by making suggestions on activities, speakers, music etc. in order to make your Homecoming celebration meaningful and engaging.
Do I have to come to all three Zoom Meetups? Attending the meetups isn't mandatory but it's definitely encouraged and will ensure you get the most out of your volunteer experience. We understand that everyone's schedules are different and life is busy, which is why there's multiple sessions for each meetup. Attending the meetups will give you the best knowledge of Homecoming plans, ideas and tools for interacting with your classmates, and encouragement from others in the alumni community. If you're unable to attend a meetup, Kimberly from the Alumni Office will communicate with you directly.
I know I can't attend Homecoming in San Diego in February, can I still get involved? Absolutely! We look forward to having a variety of virtual and in person celebrations for Homecoming and would love you to join in celebrating your reunion from wherever you are.
